NOMINATING COMMITTEE CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Deadline to submit: March 5, 2021
Eligible SFNS members interested in serving on the Board of Directors shall submit a statement to the SFNS Executive Director by March 5, 2021. Statements are then considered by the Nominating Committee.
The Nominating Committee shall consist of the Immediate Past President of the Society, who chairs the Committee, and two other members of the Society. All Nominating Committee members shall be appointed by the President with concurrence of the Board. Members of the Committee serve during the term of the President who appoints them.
The Committee has the following duties:
1. To provide Society Members with a slate of Board Members to be voted on at the Annual Meeting. Nominations can also be taken from the floor.
2. To ascertain the willingness of each candidate to serve in the position under consideration prior to the Annual Meeting election.

SUBMISSIONS NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED
All Northern California residents and fellows in the Neurosciences are invited to submit their research for consideration for the San Francisco Neurological Society's (SFNS) annual awards. The following awards will be given at the 2021 virtual annual meeting:
The Henry Newman award is presented each year to the author of the best paper dealing with clinical neurology.
The Edwin Boldrey award is intended to recognize a research project in neuroscience.
The John Hanbery award is given annually to the best clinical paper covering topics in neurosurgery.
The Harold Rosegay award is given annually to the best clinical paper covering topics in neurosurgical anatomy, history and clinical practice.
The Child Neurology award is given annually to the best clinical paper covering topics in child neurology.
Requirements:
- All submissions must be original and unpublished
- Work can be pending publication
- Must be available to record your presentation (via Zoom or PPT) and submit your recording to SFNS by March 12, 2021. Each presentation is to be 20 minutes in length and will be available for meeting attendees on the virtual platform on demand.
- You may not have previously won a total of TWO of any of the SFNS Young Investigator Awards
Award Winners Will Receive:
- $500 honorarium
- Complimentary meeting registration to the annual meeting
- Award Certificate
Thank you for a successful Parkinson's Disease Symposium! We had over 80 people attend the meeting. The event took place on October 10, 2020 from 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. It was an exciting and engaging program and it included networking opportunities and a virtual Exhibit Hall.
